Description of Ministry
There are a variety of roles involved in music ministry: psalmist, cantor, singer in a choir, instrumentalist, and choir director. Each Sunday Mass has its own choir with its own schedule. All choirs have practice time as well as Mass time. There are some specialized choirs, such as the funeral choir, the baptism choir, and choirs for special occasions like Easter and Christmas. Knowledge and skills required vary by the role in music ministry.
