WELCOME TO CATECHETICAL MINISTRY!
Preparation for First Eucharist is a two year program. The children are prepared for Eucharist and Reconciliation (Confession) over the two years. Regular class attendance and regular Sunday mass attendance are required.
Our parish Catechetical Program provides continuing formation for all students grades 1 through Jr. High (8th grade). We do sacrament preparation for children in these grades preparing for Baptism, First Eucharist (Communion) and Reconciliation. We have a program for full-initiation of children of catechetical age. Our program also provides Preschool formation for children 3 & 4 years old. Every year is important for the faith formation of our children.
Every grade is important in the formation of your children. Even if your child has already received First Eucharist continuing formation should be a part of your child’s faith life. Each grade studies a different aspect of our faith: Gr. 1--God Awareness; Gr. 2-- preparation and celebration of Reconciliation and First Eucharist; Gr. 3-- Jesus and the life of His Church; Gr. 4--The commandments and beatitudes, Gr. 5-- the seven Sacraments; Gr. 6--The bible and the Old Testament. Jr. High Gr. 7 & 8 – Values and moral choices as well as a review of our basic faith.
