The Usher is a very important job within our church as they are often the first person one sees upon entering St. Catherine.
The usher assists in greeting and seating people at mass, takes up the collection, directs communion lines, distributes bulletins after Mass, and tidies up the church after mass. The Head Usher must assist the Sacristan in obtaining an accurate count of the people in attendance, and recording it on the Mass Count sheet. The usher is also responsible for putting the money/envelopes into the money bags after communion, or after the mass and placing it in the locked box next to the vesting table in the sacristy. Usher service is usually every Sunday, but can be flexible. To become an usher, please contact one of the current ushers, or Carmelo Jimenez at [email protected].
